FREQUENCY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Experience
-
Not even a little. Most first time clients tell us the same thing, they had no idea what to expect and were surprised by how normal it felt. We will walk you through everything before we start, ask about your skin and your goals, and explain what we are doing and why as we go. There is no such thing as a dumb question here. Does that make sense? Ask us anything when you arrive.
-
No. Every treatment happens in a private room, one client at a time. No open floor, no waiting next to strangers, no group anything. It is just you, your esthetician, and your skin.
-
Most sessions run somewhere between 45 and 90 minutes depending on the service. We will confirm your exact time when you book so you know precisely what to plan around.
-
Nothing to fill out ahead of time. When you arrive, we will talk through your skin, your concerns, and anything we should know before we get started. Just show up and we will handle the rest.
-
You can share that with us when you arrive rather than at booking. Things like retinoid use, recent procedures, pregnancy, or any skin conditions change how we approach your treatment, so we will always ask before we start. It helps us build the right plan for your skin and keeps you safe.
Skin & Face
-
We start with a real look at your skin, not just a form you fill out, before deciding what it actually needs that day. From there expect cleansing, extractions if needed, treatment tailored to your specific concern, hyperpigmentation, congestion, dullness, and a finish that leaves your skin calm, not irritated. You will leave knowing exactly what we did and why.
-
Custom services are built around your skin in the moment, the right combination of steps for what you need that day. Advanced services go further, targeting a specific concern like hyperpigmentation with stronger actives and technique, usually as part of a series for lasting change. Both are priced as an affordable investment in your skin, not a luxury add on. We are always happy to help you figure out which one is right for you before you book.
-
Absolutely. In fact, the skin under a beard often needs the most help (dryness, ingrowns, itchiness). We have specific tools and techniques to treat the skin beneath the beard while conditioning the hair itself.
-
Not necessary. Come as you are and we will handle the rest.
-
Some services, especially anything with extractions or exfoliation, can leave mild redness for an hour or two. Nothing that will stop you from going straight back to your day. We will always tell you what to expect before you leave the chair.
Body & Grooming
-
Body Treatments bring the same expert care from your face to the rest of your skin, exfoliation, hydration, and targeted correction for areas beyond the face.
-
You are always draped and covered throughout the service. Only the area being treated is exposed at any time. Wear whatever is comfortable to change in and out of.
-
No. Waxing is available if you want it, not a required part of any service.
-
There is a quick pinch, most clients describe it as far more manageable than they expected. We use technique that minimizes discomfort and will always talk you through it before we start.
-
Not even a little. Private room, one client, one esthetician, and a service you have probably needed for a while. We keep it professional and comfortable, every time.
House Rules
-
Salt & Groom is appointment only, but call ahead and we will do what we can to fit you in same day. This keeps every session unrushed and gives you full attention instead of a rushed version of it. Book your time on the calendar, or call ahead for same day availability, and we will be ready for you.
-
We ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule so we can offer that time to someone else. Appointments cancelled with less notice may be subject to a fee. If something comes up, just reach out as soon as you can, we will work with you.
-
We accept all major credit and debit cards, plus contactless options like Apple Pay and Google Pay, through Square. Payment is processed at the end of your service, not before.
-
Call ahead and let us know, we will always do what we can to still take care of you. Arrivals more than 15 minutes past your appointment time may mean a shorter version of your service or a reschedule, since every appointment is timed to respect the client after you too.
